Brawl of the Worlds 2 is being recorded at the moment, and that should (almost) bring us up to date. There’s still Work. Rest. Repeat, but as it was an early book, I’d like to re-edit that before I record it.
Coming soon… Learning the Law (a Strike a Match Story). a political thriller set beneath the bunkers of Whitehall as two competing AIs battle for control of the world. (So not at all topical, then. Fingers crossed I finish it before the actual apocalypse!)
While I don’t have a release date, I am editing/rewriting the last third of the story at the mo, so it will be finished soon. There’s only one major ret-con I’m making - in the flashback in Book 3, I’d said Henry was eighteen and applying to the police academy. Admission is/was at 21 unless an exception is made, so I’m bumping his age up a few years to twenty. I figure he was having a bit of a senior moment when he was recounting the story to Ruth.
When I wrote that flashback, I made it action-packed and fast-paced, purely because the chapters either side were a tad slower. Since I wasn’t ever going to write a prequel, what did it matter? But since I need to begin this book with a version of that same story, I’ve got to maintain that level of adrenaline throughout, but I still want to keep with the detective them, so expect a fast-paced tale of murder amid the apocalypse, coming soon.
